week 2 monday - private convo (akane)

[After she finishes working on her little project, she'll be going to look for Akane around Yuggoth. If only they had damn phones in this place. Where will she find her murder pal?]

[Fortunately, Akane happens to still be at the motel for the moment. She's in the lobby, scratching at one of her arms idly as she stares from one profile to another.]

[perceptions]

[Mira makes it to the lobby eventually while Akane is still hanging about. Perfect!]

Hey Akane. How's it going?

["Well, Mira, I watched someone get boiled to death yesterday and it was partially my fault, and now I seem to be hallucinating and it sucks," is not what Akane says.]

Hi, Mira. I'm okay.

[perceptions]

[wow that sounds stressful.]

Cool. Hey, do you mind if we talk a little in private? I want to catch up with you about a couple things.

Of course. Should we go up to my room? I don't think Nagasone is in there right now.

[perceptions]

[life is simply unfair.]

Oh, he's not? [she sounds really sad about that... wait focus.] Ok then. Lead the way.

[She nods, still scratching at that arm, and heads upstairs. Once they've made it to room 119, (which has a sheet hung up in the middle as a screen between the beds) she sits down and looks at Mira expectantly.]

So, what is it?

[perceptions]

[Mira sits down next to Akane, hands on her knees and head turned over to look at her.]

I'm just curious - have you told anyone here about DCom by any chance?

I haven't had any reason to. Have you?

[perceptions]

I told one person that I was in a similar situation like this one - Jake, I think is his name. No real specifics though. Didn't mention you either.

[She hums softly.]

Wonder if that was the right move to make.

I doubt it'll do any harm. Jake doesn't seem like the type who'd suspect you over something like that.

[perceptions]

Not suspicion I'm really worried about. Information can spread fast around here with so many people, y'know? You can tell someone one thing, and never know who they might share it with. Well can't be helped now.

[She shrugs. She just wanted to check if Akane had done the same as she had.]

How are you feeling by the way? After what happened to Hana?

[She frowns, rubbing at the spot she'd been scratching earlier.]

I'm upset, of course. It was horrible, and we all played a part in condemning her. I'm just trying to focus on finding the ones responsible, though.

[perceptions]

Yeah. I wish we could have taken it back. It isn't fair what happened to her. [She crosses her arms.] This is the kind of stuff Zero would love, if the bastard were here.

[The kind of thing Zero would love, and for a moment she hears Junpei's voice whispering it to her, accusing.

She shakes her head to dismiss the night terror. Focus.]

It really is. Though at least here we aren't separated into different wards. That's a little bit of comfort.

[perceptions]

Yeah, it's nice to actually be able to communicate with each other. That little boy who was with my group was alright, but Eric was pretty belligerent toward him the whole time. Of course Q didn't do much of anything at all.

[She huffs. What a pain to get stuck with people like that...]

...Do you think we're going to survive this? We can't be so lucky a second time, right?

Little boy? There was a child in there too?

[It's bad enough that in the histories where they killed Q-team, a harmless old man died with them, but a child as well...?]

It's not going to be easy, but I have no intention of being murdered. If it's at all possible, I'll get myself and as many others as possible out of here alive.

[perceptions]

[She nods.]

Makes sense you didn't know about him. His name is Sean. He had a helmet that was stuck over his head, and had no idea how he got to DCom. He woke up with Q, Eric and I. Since Q couldn't move, Sean acted as "team leader" in his place and finalized our decisions. When I got out of DCom, he came with me.

[If that helps Akane feel any better...]

The rules say that only three will survive. That's significantly low odds. Guess I'm not being too optimistic about my chances personally.

[It doesn't make her feel any better. All of it is just a reminder of how little she still actually knows about what went on during the Decision Game.]

...You're not going to kill anyone, right?

[perceptions]

[She crosses her legs a little, pondering the question.]

Well... if someone attacks me I can't promise I won't fight back against them. I don't want to kill anyone, and especially not if I could be executed for self-defense.

[She nods, a little unhappy but understanding.]

That's fair. I just hope it doesn't come to that.

[perceptions]

I wish I could hope like you. [Mira doesn't have a very rosy outlook about how things are going here, given all that has happened so far.] What about you? Not thinking of taking a knife to anyone?

Of course not!

[She's thought about it a little.]

Even if I was willing to murder someone, doing so would just be giving our captors what they want!

[perceptions]

Yeah definitely. I mean though, it's weird. We don't really know what they want, do we? They want so many people dead, but why? Even Zero had some kind of bullshit to tell us about why we were trapped in DCom.

Presumably there's some kind of strange mystical reason behind it all. Some elder god that requires sacrifices, maybe.

[perceptions]

[She snorts.]

Yeah, maybe. And maybe a snail is actually responsible for killing six billion people, right?

[18x0]

No, not the snail. Zero is the one responsible for that.

[Though Mira did help, so there's that]

[perceptions]

I was being sarcastic, Akane. [she doesn't know if akane didn't get it, or if she did the sarcasm wrong. socializing is fuckin hard :/] Personally I think the elder god thing is bullshit, but I don't really believe in higher powers.

I'd assumed that beings like that were nothing but fiction, but everything we've seen here indicates otherwise.

[perceptions]

It's hard to be sure what to believe in. [She huffs.] Well if you're doing alright, I think I'll be on my way. I just wanted to make sure nothing bad has happened to you.
